Air BnB experience with Kids | Irish Beach
We like to travel as you can tell and typically choose hotels for their convince and ease of booking, unless we’re going camping with a tent. This time however the region – Sonoma / Mendocino that we were going to explore doesn’t boast with a variety hotels, and in fact we’ve already stayed at the Sea Ranch and the Timber Cove Resort – the best options on the coast.

Our friends came to rescue, suggesting to stay in an Air BnB with kids. Never have we before stayed in an air BnB, let alone with a child. What worried us the most was the fact that the kid can find a loose outlet or literally anything that a house hasn’t been baby-proofed for.
Here’s by the way how your air Bnb in Sonoma or Medocino going to look like:
Staying in a hotel is typically easy, since you can baby proof it within 5 minutes of arrival. Check out our little shoppe btw for two most useful and inexpensive devices that makes our life a million times easier.

The House – Air BnB
First of all, what people forget to mention while describing Air BnB experience is the authentic feel that you will acquire while staying in someone’s house from the area. Just for a moment or so you will have that feeling that you’re one of the locals. Just a feeling that this is your house and you’ve traveled away to your house in nature, just for a weekend. It’s a feeling you simply won’t get while staying in the hotel.

Second of all, the houses come with a convenience of variety of utilities and cooking utensils. Thus, if you’d like to experience a Jacuzzi in the middle of the Redwood Trees in a protection of your own private house – this is again something that very few hotels can provide.

Lastly, while you’re staying in a house – you can easily cook a dinner of your preference – this in facts I believe brings people together. A small and simple procedure of meal preparation has united people for centuries and having this luxury will give everyone who’s traveling with you a sense of belonging, participation and will inadvertently save you some mulla.
What to being with you to Air BnB
Typically the air BnB provides everything you need, from sheets to towels and what have you. Nevertheless, from experience we always bring our own:
- Fold-able Crib for the baby
- Extra blankets
- Baby’s Traveling Kit
- Food, beverages and certain utensils
- Coals and grilling tools
Our stay at the Air BnB with kids
Our first Air BnB turned out to be an A-frame house right in the middle of these tall coastal redwood sequoias at the Irish Beach. The whole atmosphere reminded us of the experience at the Stinson Beach while visiting aunt Shanon =). You get you wake up in the middle of the forest with sounds and the mystery unraveling in the bay view windows. You’ll have chance to pour yourself a fresh cup of coffee and step outside on a patio while inhaling the mist and the fog of the evergreen sequoias.

Before you’re going to spend a hole day tasting local wines, walking the rarely traversed paths along the shores of the Pacific or go dive for some abalone, you’ll have a minute or two just to reflect on your thoughts and experience the moment for what it is.

You’ll have a chance of living in a moment amongst the redwood giants and transfer back in the past when the region was being settled. Very little has changed ever since, and the untouched nature of the Northern California still reflects that pristine feeling.

Surprisingly, even our little children slept a little longer in the morning, outside of the big city, allowing us to prepare and share a scrumptious breakfast. I absolutely recommend you to visit this slow paced, clean, picturesque land outside of the Bay Area at Irish beach. We set out for a morning hike at the arena Point Arena lighthouse and the Point Arena-Stornetta Public Lands, following a filling breakfast. Hope you have a great experience as well while exploring Mendocino with your family!
