Photogenic beach in S.F. Bay area
I’d like to present you with yet another hot chill spot in all of San Francisco – the Baker’s beach. Of course weather permitting it’s one of two prime viewing spots of the Golden Gate Bridge where photographers shoot some of the most iconic images of S.F. Marshals beach is another good spot of that side view of the bridge from the West, although it’s not easily accessible, especially with kids.
Absolutely gorgeous seascape from east to west with refreshing sea breeze – probably anyone’s idea of paradise. Typically its crowded on a warmer day, so just like the rest of the sweet spots around the bay area you might want to come a little early if you’d like to have a parking spot.
Bakers Beach with kids
Yet another awesome looking beach in SF to hang out with your family and kids on weekend or the week day. Surprisingly for the Bay area this beaches around the peninsula seem especially family oriented with ample parking, BBQ spots. Plenty of fine clean sand is a perfect medium for sand castles.
Keep in mind that weather in the Bay can be a bit unpredictable so do bring some windbreakers scarfs and hats just in case that sea breeze turns on you. We always have 3 sets of clothes in the car while traveling around the Bay – one for Fall, one for Winter and one for Summer.
The quarter view of the bridge makes it an ideal place for photo shoots or just a sweet place to hang out during the week or the weekend. Bring a freezebee, couple of friends, and your weekend is set.
Parking at Baker Beach
There are a bunch of grills available in the park nearby and tons of parking, you will have to be there early though. The park is also easily accessible within the walking distance from the Land’s End overlook which boasts a bit more parking spots than the Baker Beach location.
One of the chilliest spot in San Francisco on a sunny afternoon. It’s a perfect spot to explore with family and friends. Easily accessible all year around I hope you’ll get a chance to see this gem. Bring some skewers, a freeze bee and a sunny afternoon is guaranteed to you. Btw, it seemed like this beach is very much dog friendly too!
Check out the Crissy field and the Land’s End if you are in the area. Below you will find a list with a bunch of other cool spots to check out with your children while hanging out at the peninsula.
