Rarely do we blog about restaurants. However the featured sandwich joint – Ike’s – is as “California” as the local cuisine gets. Seriously. Every time we have visitors out of state we try to go out for some small-time local restaurants and perhaps unique California chains – like the Urth Cafe. Our friends usually end up being surprised with “In and out” burgers, leaving them wanting to explore more. This shop is our favorite spot to hit up after a day at the beach.
At this point, the business has expanded all across southern, central, and northern California. All for a good reason. Ike’s sandwiches are simply to die for. Flavor rich, packed with meat and avocado paste, spiced with appetizing sauces it’s mouth-watering goodness worthy of every penny.
Amidst the chaotic events related to extensive media coverage of newly identified virus, many are forgetting about the small businesses. Keep in mind that many of the small restaurant businesses will continue operating during this time. We can support them by ordering food, picking it up or having it delivered through say GrubHub or Uber eats.
