Tilden Little Farm in Berkeley
Before going to Tilden Little Farm in Berkeley, check out their official website for hours of operations. Holliday closures, etc.. the closure dates are a bit temperamental. Check out a little Merry-go-round located within walking distance. Also you might like to see some exotic and domestic plants and flowers at the nearby Berkeley botanical Gardens!

Did I mention the whole experience is free! That’s right it’s like a mini free zoo in East bay. Take that you expensive Oakland Zoo!
We had a fantastic time chillin with the dude at the Round Valley Railroad in Berkley hills. After a short snack and a nap we continued our mini adventure that day at the Tilden Little Farm a few miles north of the trains.

The area is well organized with plenty of parking and multiple picnic spots along the road. The Farm itself is rather small, although it has all the animals you’ll find in your child’s books.

Our son had a blast walking from one animal stall to the other. Pointing at the animals and making appropriate sounds related to the species. We also brought some celery to feed the cows, pigs and goats.

Overall it was fun and enjoyable activity. The kid was ecstatic and you can easily combine the visit to the Little Farm in Berkley with the Tilden Redwood Valley Railway trip.

Don’t forget to bring some snacks for yourself and kids aswell.
