Marina Dunes Preserve Succulents
You will find one of the most surreal and unimaginably colorful displays of succulent plants at the Marina Dunes Preserve. Also you may find the landscape at the Ford Ord Dunes State Park in Seaside. Mind blowing colors of the stonecrop Coast Dudleya succulent will impress absolutely anyone!

The fiery tongues dazzle the viewer with the grand variety and shades from green to red. When they synchronously come together into a unison – it’s a “blue man group” of the nature. Seriously, you’d never think that just one plant can create such an arrangement with variegated appearance across the landscape of the sand dunes.

Combined with sand dunes this is one of the most unique beach seascapes you’ll find in all of California. Another place that is somewhat similar to Marina Dunes Preserve is the Point Reyes National Seashore all the way in Marin county.

There’s a well-defined path that goes from the parking in the Marina Dunes Preserve toward the Pacific Ocean. However, due to constantly shifting sand in the area a simple walk in the park can turn into a sand stomping struggle. The place is popular with the Marina Dunes RV Park residents, located stone-throws away from the RV Camp.
Where to stay to enjoy the coastal line the most
There is a fancy The Sanctuary Beach Resort located right on the shores with some of the best oysters at the pricy Salt Wood Kitchen and Oysterette that almost worth every penny. There are also cool firepits located by the beach. You can find better deals at the reasonably priced Monterey Tides hotel located at the Sand Dunes city.

Overall this is one of those “Locals only” spots since the majority of the tourist traffic will be routed toward Monterey & Pacific Grove. If you’d like a quiet, peaceful, pensive atmosphere this reclusive part of Monterey is what you’d like to look into.
